-There are four types of clouds: low clouds, middle clouds, high clouds, and clouds of vertical development.
-Clouds are classified according to their height, or altitude-low, middle, or high-and their shape.
-If air movement is mainly horizontal, clouds form in layers; these are stratiform clouds. If air movement is mainly vertical,
clouds grow upward in puffs; these are called cumuliform clouds.
-Cloud heights are measured as a distance above the ground, NOT above sea level.
-Clouds reach higher altitudes along the equator and lower latitudes in the polar regions.
